GOA: GOVT GEARS UP TO AVOID TRAFFIC MESS DURING STRIKE BY MINING AFFECTED PEOPLE

As thousands of people dependent on mining industry are expected to arrive in Panaji city on May 19, the elaborate arrangements are in place to ensure that there is no traffic mess. The students specially who are going for the HSSC exam are asked to leave early.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE COMMUTERS

In view of closure of mining operations the mining affected people from various parts of Goa will be congregating at Azad Maidan, Panaji on 19/03/2018 morning. The KTC Circle Panaji, Malim Circle, Merces Junction and Kranti Circle will be largely affected due to the protest and is expected to be blocked. The following advisory is issued to cause least inconvenience to the general motorists/commuters.

 

  1. The road users are requested to avoid the route to and from KTC Circle, Panaji.
  2. The commuters going to GMC/Manipal Hospital and Panaji city from North Goa may take the route via old Mandovi Bridge/Kranti Circle to city.
  3. The traffic from South Goa going to Panaji city may take route via GMC – Goa University – Dona Paula – Miramar.
  4. The parents of the student who are appearing for exams in and around Panaji city are advised to start early so as to reach the examination centres/Schools well in advance.
  5. The commuters going to Airport and Railway Station are requested to take an early start by atleast one hour to reach their respective destination.

 

To avoid hardship to the general motorists necessary arrangements are being made by Traffic Police. However, in order to avoid any delay in their respective journeys all the motorists are requested to start early and co-operate with Traffic Police.

 

FOR THE STUDENTS APPEARING FOR HSSC EXAM ARRANGEMENTS BY BJP

 

Students appearing for 12th std exams in and around Panaji city are advised to start early so as to reach the examination centres/Schools well in advance.

 

Special vehicle arrangements have been made, in case of any eventuality to avoid hardship.

COLLECTOR BANS GATHERING OF MOB IN THE CITY TILL 10.30 A.M.

District Collector has issued the order banning the gathering of the mob in the city between 6 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in the city due to the possible traffic congestion and ongoing examination of the HSSC students.
