Panaji (Goa) Senior Congress leader Jitendra Deshprabhu has expressed his complete displeasure over the manner in which the selection process is undertaken to shortlist the candidate to be next GPCC president in the State.
TNV had on Sunday informed its readers that former Chief Minister and sitting Margao MLA Digamber Kamat is leading the race to be the new GPCC chief.
Addressing a press conference, Deshprabhu hit out at his own party for a biased selection process. The leader has decided to take up the matter before INC president Rahul Gandhi.
“What kind of selection process is this? I don’t understand. There is no unity at all. All the importance is given to CLP and leaders from South Goa. Why is that so?” he questioned.
“Are there no leaders in North Goa?” he asked further.
Betting for former Calangute MLA Agnelo Fernandes candidature, Deshprabhu said that the time has come when the party needs to hand over charge to a leader from minority community from North Goa.
