Rohit Choudhary, a research analyst at Ernst & Young firm recently won India’s most prestigious and biggest modelling competition for men, the Rubaru Mr India 2017 contest held on 25 February 2017 at the Royal Castle in Gurugram, Haryana. It is no looking back for him after winning the title. We caught up with him to know about his life after the pageant.
- What are the projects that are you are currently doing? What are your future projects?
I am currently being a part of photoshoots for clothing designers alongside with judging events at various fashion events. In the coming future I am looking for more opportunities to collaborate with fashion runway weeks and live shows. Soon I will be releasing a new portfolio shoot covering a different aspect of my modeling career.
- What difference do you find in the life before and after Rubaru Mr India contest and your success in it?
The platform gave me a great opportunity to represent India at Top International Model of the World 2017 and secure 2nd Runner Up internationally. I have been able to make a social presence in the glamour world.
- How much has Mr India fame helped you to emerge as a front runner in your career?
The Mr India fame came with a responsibility of carrying it with my passion and pride. It pushed me to work hard on myself and groom to be able to compete and make a mark at the international pageant. - What would be your advice for those who cannot make to the important event like Mr India, which can give the much needed push in career?
The Mr India title comes with a great responsibility and hard work. For the ones who didn’t make it to the event should not feel dishearten and always keep working hard on themselves to bring out the best.
Everyone is uniquely different and I’m sure by working hard for it would make a lot difference in their personality to succeed in life. - What are the elements that one require to be Mr India?
In my opinion, Mr India is a persona not just a mere title.
An individual has to be passionate, hardworking and focussed enough to represent his country and always be the one to be looked upon as the compassionately attractive figure. - What are the things that you have learnt from Mr India contest?
I have discovered that it takes more than just dreams and workout to become the desirable guy. It has to be fired with all the elements of hard work, passion, humbleness and the disciplines of life. - How do you balance between a personal and professional life as you have suddenly turned into a busy person?
Being a multi-tasker is the key here. I have been working as a full time Senior associate with Ernst & Young, one of the leading Big 4 accounting MNC and managing my modelling assignments alongside. I would say it’s my passion and the hard work which fuels me to take up time to manage the best of both world. - How do you rate Indian models compared to the international? Do you think we have inherent positive/negative in us?
Indian models are doing competitively well as the international models in the glamour world internationally. They are getting a lot of work (be it a male or female models) as they are always looked upon as the professional and the hardworking ones with the perfect skin tone and features. - 9. What would be the advice for the young generation to want to make modeling or acting as their career?
I strongly believe anything that you will always start with focus and sincerity will take you places. Be it any profession, modeling is no different than others.
You have to be socially active and make a brand space for yourself to succeed. Marketing and being aware of what’s happening in the glamour world with a great portfolio and grooming will always help to make a mark.
