As a part of the nationwide fast organised by AICC throughout the country , the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to organised a fast on Monday, 9th April 2018 to promote harmony in various sections of society at Azad  Maidan between 11 a.m and 5 p.m.

Addressing a joint meeting of Goa PCC and CLP held in Congress House on Saturday for the purpose, in the presence of CLP Leader Chandrakant Kavlekar , Shantarami Naik said that BJP leaders are out to divide the country on highly objectionable communal lines ,in which, BJP’s central ministers play a shameless role.

Naik said that a BJP M.P Sakshi Maharaj has said that Hindu mahilas should produce at least four children each, in order to increase the Hindu population  in the country.

A BJP Minister Niranjan Jyoti has appealed to the people to choose between ‘ Ramzade’ (Rama’s children )and ‘haramzade’ ( illegitimate children).

Another  BJP minister said that those who oppose Narendra Modi should go to Pakistan.

Naik said that sometimes back when Sadhavi Saraswati came down to Goa ,in a public speech ,she said that  those who eat beef should be flogged to death in a public square and his flesh should be displayed in public so that no one dares to eat beef in Goa.

Explaining further divisive tendencies of BJP , Dr Praveen Togadia a Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader who had come to  old Mardol ,Goa said that GoddessnMhalsa had killed Rahu and Ketu but he said ,they are re-born as Christian and Muslims.

Babu Kavlekar , said that BJP is a destructive force and that they cannot remain satisfied unless they succeed in creating turmoil in the society.

Kavlekar said that people in the country are frustrated and, if elections held tomorrow congress will return to power with thumping majority.

This assessment is not being made by congressmen alone, but BJP are doing the same calculation which is scaring them.

The President of Goa Pradesh Mahilla Congress Pratima Coutinho, Dr Pramod Salgaoncar, Shambhu Bhau Bandekar, Urfan Mulla  and Sagun Wadkar also spoke on the occasion.
