PARRIKAR ASKS PWD TO STUDY STABILITY OF BRIDGES, SUBMIT REPORT BY MAY 30.

Panaji (Goa): Chief minister Manohar Parrikar has directed state public works department to barricade all the bridges which are not in the use.

“As a measure of public safety, in the first instance and on urgent basis all old unused bridges are required to be barricaded and all sides access, need to the blocked with the appropriate measures,” Parrikar has said. He has moved a  note to the PWD.

Status report on the measures taken needs to be submitted by March 31, 2017 to this office, says the note.

“Thereafter all such old bridges, whether in use or not, shall be inspected for its stability and safety and such audit reports shall be submitted to this office by May 30 along with measures for rehabilitation,” the chief minister has said.
