Margao (Goa): The traders and businessmen of South Goa have demanded arrangement of a help centre for solution to any queries regarding the GST regime.

As India prepares for the biggest tax reform of implementation of ‘Goods and Services Tax’ to be enforced from July 1, a GST awareness meet was organised at Margao on Monday.

The meet was organised by the Margao and Curchorem ward of Commercial Tax Department based in Margao. Over 550 representatives of various businesses, trades and services of South Goa attended the meet.

Various aspects and dimensions of the GST were explained to the assesses by the Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Umakant Korkankar, Santosh Kundaikar, Commercial Tax officers Darshani Dessai and Vinita Madkaikar.

Issues pertaining to taxation of products and services were also discussed and resolved.
