Food & Drug Administration (FDA) officials today took action against stalls and outlets outside GMC. It was reported that food was being cooked in dirty premises and in unhygienic conditions.
“All outlet and stall owners were sent show-cause notices and reminders 15 days ago. Since there was no reply from the owners, we came here to inspect and have asked them to stop cooking in such conditions and clear the equipment from there,” said FDA officer Richard Noronha.
It is known that permission is sought to sell ready items, but, some cook and sell eatables in unhygienic condition.
However, some stall owners claimed that they have not received any letter or notice from the FDA on the matter.
