The Cinephile Film Club of Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) will be screening 1981 French film (with English sub-titles) ‘ My Dinner with Andre’  on Thursday, July 19, 6:30 pm. The screening will be hosted by renowned film critic Sachin Chatte.

The film is directed by Louis Malle, starring Andre Gregory and Wallace Shawn. The duration of the film is 109 minutes.

French director Louis Malle made 20 odd films in his illustrious career during which he was either nominated or won practically every significant award at festivals, some of them multiple times – from the Palm d’Or to BAFTA, Golden Globe and the Oscars.

In this film, two actors, Andre Gregory and Wallace Shawn play themselves and share a conversation at a restaurant in New York. That is it, the basic premise of this audacious film is a conversation between the two but what a conversation it turns out to be ! Gregory does most of the talking narrating his ideas and experiences and importantly, the conversation flows very naturally without any superficial elements in this cerebral film.
