DHARWATKAR MEMORIAL TT – KEWAL, VEDANT, RISHAN, AARON WIN TITLES

Kewal Tamhankar had a good outing, winning both the Mens and Youth Boys singles titles to clinch a double crown at the 8th Late Ramacanta V.P. Dharwatkar Memorial All Goa Table Tennis tournament organised by Panjim Table Tennis Club in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa, at Indoor Stadium, Campal. Nikhil Jadhav in Mens and Pranav Naik in Youth had to be contended with the runners up spots in the tournament which is held annually to promote upcoming players, in the memory of Late Ramacanta Dharwatkar, a former distinguished State Table Tennis champion.  Rishan Sheikh (Mini cadets), Aaron Farias (Cadets), Aaron Colaco (Sub Junior), and Vedant Kulkarni (Junior) were the other notable winners while Yatharth Baliyan, Fynn Gonsalves, Nathan Barua and Anish Verlekar emerged as runners up in mini cadets, cadets, sub junior and junior boys singles categories respectively. Promising player prizes were awarded to Swayam Chodankar and Sankalp Kavlekar in the Boys section. In the girls section, Riya Gopi will meet Samaira Soares in Mini cadets Girls singles finals while the finals of the cadets girls will be contested between Urvi Surlekar and Sunidhi Sawaikar. In sub junior girls, Najida Sheikh will take on Simran Kubal who has also reached the Junior girls finals, where she will face the challenge of Aalya Arora.  

Stanley Colaco (former National Football player),  Mahendra Dharwatkar and  Sumeet Tendulkar (Sports Promoters),  Chetan Kavlekar, Jt. Secretary, Goa Olympic Association, Noel Estibeiro (Referee) and  Panjim Table Tennis Club officials Selvyn Godinho (Secretary), and Sandeep Heble (Vice President) graced the finals.

Mini Cadets Boys

Winner –Rishan Sheikh

Runner up – Yatharth Baliyan

Third Place –Hrishi Dayekar and Siddhant Parsekar

Cadet Boys

Winner – Aaron Farias

Runner up – Fynn Gonsalves

Third Place – Amann Chouhan and Dhruv Helekar

Sub Junior Boys

Winner – Aaron Colaco

Runner up – Nathan Barua

Third Place – Priyam Redkar and Aman Naik

Junior Boys

Winner – Vedant Kulkarni

Runner up – Anish Verlekar

Third Place – Aman Naik and Aaron Colaco 

Youth Boys

Winner –Kewal Tamkhankar

Runner up – Pranav Naik

Third Place – Aaron Colaco and Nikhil Jadhav

Men’s

Winner –Kewal Tamhankar

Runner up –Nikhil Jadhav

Third Place – Sachin Soares and Deepak Gopani
