‘Goa Going Pink 2017’, the 2nd edition of Goa Going Pink was announced by Ultraman, super model and Pinkathon founder Milind Soman today at a press conference in Goa Marriott. Miracle Munj is conducting this run in association with United Sisters Foundation (USF), an NGO working for empowering women through fitness initiatives and the organiser of the Pinkathon, India’s biggest only women’s run. Over 2500 women nearly double of last year are expected to participate this year.
Goa Going Pink, women’s ONLY run to promote health & fitness amongst women as well as to spread breast cancer awareness is being organised under the umbrella of India Going Pink (www.indiagoingpink.com). India Going Pink is a concept initiated by United Sister’s Foundation which conducts Pinkathon (www.pinkathon.in) and takes the message to all the other cities and towns of India in order to make women adopt healthier lifestyle and have a positive attitude towards life.
Goa Going Pink is a model run under the aegis of Pinkathon. The objective of the event is to encourage women’s health and fitness. It also aims to raise awareness about breast cancer, its causes and prevention. Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths amongst women worldwide, in spite of it being one of the curable cancers if detected early. The key to controlling this disease therefore, is to create awareness about preventive measures for breast cancer. Goa Going Pink offers the running distances of 3 kms, 5 kms & 10 kms giving each women runner an opportunity, to run in their comfort zone.
