TOURISM DEPT TO PROMOTE GOA AS AQUA PHYSIOTHERAPY HUB

Calangute  (Goa): Minister  for Tourism Manohar Azgaonkar has said that Tourism Department will promote Goa as a destination for ‘Aquatic Physiotherapy’. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Aquatic Conference at a resort in Calangute today, he also said that all efforts will be made to promote this special treatment as tourists visit Goa for wellness tourism.

“I stopped taking medicines after starting physiotherapy treatment at Sparc Physiotherapy centre in Goa. The Tourism Department will promote Goa as a destination for Aquatic Physiotherapy and all efforts will be made to promote this special treatment as tourists visit Goa for wellness tourism,” he said.

Azgaonkar along with TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai inaugurated the first international AquaCon 2017, organised by Dr Ketan Bhatikar’s Sparc Physiotherapy Centre at Calangute.

The inauguration of the conference was held uniquely with the lighting of the lamp in the swimming pool by both Ministers and other dignitaries..

“I will get an independent council of physios and take physiotherapists forward,” Sardesai said congratulating Bhatikar for organising the conference and inviting delegates from all across the country and globe.

“At the two-day conference  we will  be  having  several  key resource  persons such as Dr Sanjay Parmar, Dr Prachi Arora who will be  enlightening the  delegates on the importance of  aquatic  physiotherapy. Water has special properties which are essential for treating special children, and this is the awareness that we are creating and promoting through this conference,” said Dr Bhatikar.

As many as 120 delegates will be participating in this two-day conference.
