Team TNV caught up with Dalton D’Souza Rubaru Mister Model International India 2018 who will be representing India in the Dominican Republic and will also walk the ramp at the Maimi fashion week.
Q1. First of all, congratulations to you for winning the Audi Goa Rubaru Mister India 2018 title. How does it feel?
Thank you very much.It is an amazing feeling to know that your childhood dream has come true. Whenever I meet people the MR India tag instils a sense of pride and achievement which is extraordinary.
Q2. What was your reaction when the announced your name at the grand finale of the Audi Goa Rubaru Mister India 2018 pageant in Goa?
Since I was from Goa and the local favourite, I felt great with a rush of euphoria and excitement the moment my name was announced on the mike.
Q3. How does it feel to get associated and also becoming the face of India’s biggest and oldest surviving annual male pageant?
It feels great knowing that you are part of the Rubaru group which is the oldest and biggest pageant in the country. It is a great opportunity and a chance for me to give back to society with the backing of such a big brand name.
Q4. How has your journey been so far with the Rubaru Mister India Organization?
The journey has been memorable. The competition was immense and I learnt a lot from the other participants who had come from different parts of India. They all had a different skill set and outlook which guided me a lot throughout my journey with Rubaru.
Q5. What are the responsibilities that come with this prestigious title and how hard it is to fulfil those responsibilities and also to live up to the expectations that have been set on you?
Being a titleholder, people, especially the youth, will look up to me as a role model. With such power comes responsibility. It is my duty to give back to the society in whichever way possible and also encourage the youth to focus on positive goal-oriented behaviour which will benefit our society.
Q6. This year the Rubaru Mister India pageant celebrated their fifteenth anniversary and you are the fifteenth Rubaru Mister India titleholder. How do you feel about that?
It’s a wonderful feeling to be part of their 15th edition which is the grandest of them all so far. It has given us a platform to showcase our talents and we have to capitalise on this great opportunity.
Q7. What do you think are the qualities that are required to be a Mr India?
Apart from the chiselled body and good looks you need to be confident, determined, smart, skilful and hardworking.
Q8. Your biggest support in life?
My biggest support is my parents and a few friends who have always supported me multi-tasking as an entrepreneur and as a model. They have always boosted my confidence and told me that nothing is impossible for you as long you work hard and concentrate on your goal.

In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.
Your mission in life should not be merely to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style.
