Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Sunday paid tributes to former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee at a condolence meeting held at party state headquarter in the city.
After the floral tribute to the departed soul, GPCC President Girish Chodankar said the organisation of the meet itself explained what Congress was.
He said Congress President Rahul Gandhi was spreading love to counter hatred and that had prompted to organise the meet.
Chodankar said Vajapayee ji respected and recognised the contribution of Congress Prime Ministers and achievements and had grown above party line.

Chodankar further said that- had Vajpayee been active in politics in the last four to five years, the face of the country would have been different.

“If Vajpayee was active in politics in the last four to five years, he would have curbed the attempts to divide people on the basis of religion. He would not have let anyone dictate to the people what they should eat and what they should not,” he said.

”He was liberal, democratic and had respected his opponents,” Chodankar added.
