Panaji (Goa): Due to ongoing code of conduct in the state in the wake of upcoming Panchayat elections, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today said that the details of common minimum program of alliance partners would be announced on June 18.
Parrikar had announced that all the alliance partners including BJP, Goa Forward Party, MGP and independent MLAs will work out common minimum program which would guide the governance of the state for this tenure. The CM had said the programme would be announced on May 30, which is Goa Statehood Day.
“We have kept the announcement on hold due to code of conduct (which is in operation due to Panchayat election). We will now announce it on June 18,” the Parrikar told reporters today.
June 18 is annually celebrated as Goa Revolution Day in the state. The elections to the Panchayats are scheduled on June 11, Sunday while counting will be held on June 13.
Parrikar-led state government after being sworn in this year in March had announced that they will formulate common minimum program with `Goenkarponn’ (Goanness) at its heart which will be acceptable to all the alliance partners.
Meanwhile, Goa Forward Party leader and Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai too announced on Twitter the postponement of date for unveiling common minimum program.
“Announcement of #commonMinimumProgramme (#CMP) of alliance #GoaGovt postponed to 18th June – Goa Revolution Day as Model Code of Conduct in force,” tweeted Sardesai this morning.
