Goa: The Goa BJP Yuva Morcha on Tuesday strongly condemned the public slaughtering of a cow by the Indian Youth Congress as part of its protest in Kannur-Kerala terming the act as ‘barbaric’.
Addressing media persons, BJP youth wing member Siddharat Kuncolienkar said that party strongly condemns such act and demands that Congress high command should take the responsibility of the entire incident.
“The youth congress members in Kerala as part of their protest slaughtered an 18-month old male calf in a very cruel manner. The act was barbaric and cruelty to animals. We strongly condemn it and wants Congress high command to take its responsibility, as whatever happened was with support of party leadership,” he said.
Former MLA took a dig at Congress party, claiming that ‘party’s rejection and failure across the country’ has triggered of frustration resulting into such ‘cruelty’ and ‘barbaric’ act.
Supporting Narendra Modi led government’s decision on the various restrictions imposed on slaughter, Kuncolienkar said that Union government is trying to regulate activities related to trade and it needs to be supported. “Everyone has to follow the rule,” he said adding ‘in democracy, everyone has right to protest or support but not to such extent’.
The incident happened on Saturday, last week, as the state witnessed protests and beef festivals organised by youth congress members.
