DELHI

Mining dependents from Goa began their three-day protest in Delhi today demanding the resumption of mining in Goa which came to a standstill by the Supreme Court’s order in February.

Around one thousand people under the banner of Goa Mining People’s Front (GMPF) have gathered at New Delhi’s Ram Leela Maidan for the three-day-long protest.

Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik, South Goa MP Narendra Savoikar and Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar also participated in the protest.

The GMPF has demanded for an amendment in the mining law during the ongoing winter session of Parliament to enable resumption of mining operations in the state.
