HC DIRECTS TOURISM DEPARTMENT TO CONDUCT SURVEY OF ILLEGAL STRUCTURES AT CALANGUTE BEACH

The tourism department has been directed by the High Court to conduct a survey of illegal structures at Calangute beach.

The High Court has also asked the tourism department to conduct an inspection and check whether the operators of seasonal structures and shack owners have extended their area of operation beyond the permissible limit.

A division bench of Justice R M Borde and Justice Prithviraj Chavan directed the authorities of the tourism department to conduct the inspection and submit a report within four weeks.
