BENAULIM GRAM SABHA DEMANDS BAN ON BUSINESSES RUN BY LAMANI COMMUNITY

The gram sabha of the Benaulim Village, on Wednesday, passed a resolution to shut down all businesses, including taxi services operated by the members of the Lamani community.

“The gram sabha demanded the withdrawal of all ‘no objection certificates’ given to businesses operated by the Lamanis, including taxi operations,” Menino Fernandes deputy sarpanch of the Cana Benaulim village panchayat said on Wednesday.

Fernandes further said that the resolution will be discussed at a meeting of the panchayat committee next week.
