The mining dependents today marched to Transport Minister Sudin Dhavalikar’s residence over their demand for resumption of mining activity in the state.

The mining dependents, under the banner of Goa Mining People’s Front (GMPF), walked to the private residence of Dhavalikar at Bandora village.

GMPF president Puti Gaonkar later said that Dhavalikar has assured them that he would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi before January 16 to discuss the matter.

“We have given him the deadline till that time. If he fails to keep his word, we will march again to his residence on January 17,” Gaonkar said.
