ONE BOOKED IN MARGAO FOR CHEATING JOB SEEKERS

The police have registered an offence against one Manoj Kumar Singh, for allegedly duping job seekers to the tune of Rs 7.8 lakh. The accused is currently absconding.

According to a complaint filed by one of the job seekers, Singh had asked for Rs 25000 and assured him of employment overseas. It is learnt that Singh charged similar amount from nearly 35 other job seekers.

Margao PI Kapil Nayak has said that Singh’s office was searched and recovered passports he took from the victims to pretend visa processing. Nayak further said that police were tracing Singh’s whereabouts.
