ARAMBOL

A 27-year-old Iran national has been arrested for allegedly raping a 24-year-old woman near Arambol beach, police informed Tuesday.

The accused, Majid Azizi was out on bail in a drug case. Azizi had met the victim at a party in Arambol on January 21, a police official said. The accused took the victim to his rented room after the party and allegedly forced himself on her.

Azizi was arrested on January 28 under various sections of the IPC, after the victim woman filed a complaint against him.
