IHCL TAKES OVER MANAGEMENT OF CIDADE DE GOA

The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), a subsidiary of TATA Group on Monday announced the takeover of the management of Goa’s oldest five-star hotel, Cidade de Goa.

A statement released by the IHCL said that the hotel, which currently operates 207 rooms, will form a part of the IHCL’s SeleQtions portfolio – a collection of hotels and resorts with a distinct character. In addition to the 207 rooms, an additional 299 rooms which are currently under construction, will be added to the same complex under the Taj brand scheduled to open by the end of this year.

“Iconic properties like Cidade de Goa under a management contract with Fomento Resorts and Hotels Ltd., promoted by the illustrious Timblo family will further strengthen IHCL’s position as the most iconic and profitable hospitality company,” Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL said in the statement.

The Fomento Group are the promoters of Cidade de Goa.
