Goa’s Marina Albuquerque and Avita Bandodkar reached the semifinals in Veterans Women’s Doubles category in the All India Civil Services Badminton Tournament which was held in Pune.

The Goa pairing defeated Hemin Baghe (Chattisgarh) / Sukesha Saggi (Uttar Pradesh) 21-16, 21-14.

 In the semi finals, they lost to Sangeeta Rajgopalan / Shikha Khanduri 16-21, 14-21.

In the third place playoff match, they went down fighting 14-21, 17-21 to Delhi’s pair of Priya Nalgundwar / Madhu Gyanchandani, narrowly missing out on a medal.
