TNV: When and how did you begin modelling? Were you studying or working before then?

DD: I was always fascinated about modelling since my school days, I always used to notice how they look, talk and walk.  During my college days, I participated in many modelling contests also took up my first project for Tata Motors. After my graduation, I took a job in IT as a Software Architect but soon I realised modelling, ramp, Shoots excited me much more than a 9 to 5 desk job, therefore I quit my job and now working a Freelancer Model.

TNV: Why modelling when you could have settled in for a more stable permanent career?

DD: Because I believe a dream with passion is worth risking a stable career, That’s why I left my job as a Software Architect in Metric Stream Ltd. as very soon staring of my stable career I realised very well that this is not meant for me. Rather Modelling, Acting and theatre exited me to the core, so I decided to quit my stable job and make it big in the Showbiz.  Tell me about your first assignment. if any How did it happen? What was the experience like (make this answer as personal as possible) I had plans for getting into the Industry after completing my Bachelors of Tech. in IT by God had other plans for me I got to know about an audition for the well Know Tata Motors and next I was waiting for my audition with other 300 guys, after the audition I was not at all expecting a call from them , but the same evening phone rings and I got to know I have been selected I did the Tvc which aired all over the country, therefore I believe One should never fear failure, rather fear not trying.

TNV: What do you feel makes you a good model? Your face? Your body? Your attitude? As opposed to others?

DD: A good body and face take you nowhere unless you have a good level of confidence and the correct attitude. What I feel makes me a good model is my confidence, attitude and my down to earth nature. Confidence and attitude towards things is the key to everything and mine happens to be the same.

TNV: Why Rubaru Mr India when there is so many local pageants happen ??

DD: My goal is to work for my country India make it proud on a big platform, no other local pageants will get us this opportunity to represent our country on an International level.  And being a part of the Rubaru Group is a matter of Pride.

TNV: Did Mr India just happen to you along the way – or were you preparing to take part in the pageant?

DD: I believe one should always be prepared to strike when the opportunity arises. I have been admiring and preparing for Pageants since a young age because I always wanted to represent my country on an international platform.

TNV: Tell us about how you train for it. What is the regimen like? What are the challenges involved?

DD: I have made being fit my lifestyle, my daily regime includes 2-3 hour of workout including cardio and weight training. Also, I practice Ramp walk and pose in front of a mirror to boost and motivate myself. Taking care of my hair, skin and hygiene is part of daily routine.  I come from a complete vegetarian Brahmin Family, initially, when I started working out I used to hide eggs in my cupboard and cook and eat them late night when everyone was asleep also pack them up in tiffin for the next day.

TNV: What makes you feel you should be the chosen one? What’s different about you as a contestant?

DD: Every contestant here in this competition would be a good choice But I would be the best choice because I believe in smart and hard work and I will be completely dedicated to the organisation and my year will not be about just smiling and waving Instead, it will be a year of service. I Plan to be involved with charities and organisations that are already partnered with the prestigious Rubaru Group.

TNV: How will winning the Mr India pageant will go to affect your life?

DD: Winning the Mr INDIA pageant will open a new chapter of my life, reviving the different aspects of both Social services and Glamour Industry and most importantly would give me a chance to represent and make my country proud on an International Platform. I would be representing INDIA henceforth I will be working really hard and always keep the name of my country High.

TNV: What are your views on ‘Save Girl Child’ campaign?

DD: Save the Girl Child is an awareness campaign to save the girl Child in INDIA by Ensuring their safety as well as to stop crime against Girlchild. Each one of us should take the initiative to save the girl child. We have to educate people that Girls are equally sometimes more important as Boys in the society to maintain social equilibrium to educate we should give awareness and campaign through mass media, Volunteering with an NGO would be a good start. We all can lend some time to the cause of India’s Girls, Also as a part of NGO’s we can ensure that there are adequate support and facilities. NGO’s like Save the Children are working closely with governments  ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign via massive awareness and large-scale female welfare service across districts. This can ensure that a girl child has access to life, education and opportunities instead of being just a household worker.
