TNV: When and how did you begin modelling? Were you studying or working before then?
BS: It all started during my under graduate days. I started as a freelance model for a student from a well-known academy of photography. I was a student from SRM University doing my Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree by then.
TNV: Why modelling, when you could have settled in for a more stable permanent career?
BS: There is a famous adage which goes as “ when your passion becomes your career, you don’t have to wait for weekends”. Only a few are lucky to have passion as their career. Modelling is my passion and Rubaru Mr. India is an attempt to quench the thirst for my passion.
TNV: Tell me about your first assignment. How did it happen? What was the experience like?
BS: My first assignment was RuBaRu’s Mr. South India International. I was constantly updating myself over RuBaRu’s instagram handle to gather the details about Mr. India contest and that is when I came to know about this Mr. South India title. I wanted to give it a try. I am very glad that I could make it to Top 5. It’s impact on my life was beyond imagination positive.
TNV: What do you feel makes you a good model? Your face? Your body? Your attitude? As opposed to others?
BS: Face, Body & Attitude together play an important role in this field. Knowing how to blend these parameters is what makes me a good model. However, not afraid of being unique and doing good things outside my job are my trait.
TNV: Why Rubaru Mr india when there are so many local pageants happening?
BS: Its already mentioned in your question. Why go for local pageants when we have the famous & prestigious pageant RuBaRu Mr. India? Supporting this fact, the cause of this Pageant ‘Female Foeticide’ is more powerful & solid.
TNV: Did Mr. India just happen to you along the way or were you preparing to take part in the pageant?
BS: Mr. India is not something that can happen along the way for me. I have kept my career as a dentist aside for 6 months to train myself emotionally, physically and mentally.
TNV: Tell us about how you train for it? What is the regimen like? What are the challenges involved?
BS: Physical training has been a part of my lifestyle. Mental training is always effortful. The regimen is simple. Eat healthy, Sleep, Improvise everyday both mentally & physically, Repeat. Road to Mr. India without any challenges? Big NO. Keeping my career at stake & believing in myself when no one else did was my biggest challenge I’d to go through.
TNV: What makes you feel you should be the chosen one? What’s different about you as a contestant?
BS: RuBaRu Mr. India title is no joke. The responsibilities that accompanies the title is titanic. I am very much sure that I can bag the responsibilities that follows the crown. That makes me feel distinguished as a contestant & obviously be the chosen one.
TNV: How will winning the Mr. India pageant going to affect your life?
BS: Impact of winning the Mr. India pageant is definitely going to be hardcore. Winning this title will decide whether Bakhirathan is going to be a successful Dentist or an inspiring Model. In short, its Dr vs. Mr.
TNV: What are your view and thought for cause camping of Save Girl Child? How will you educate to stop this in our country ?
BS: Female Foeticide might sound immemorial but sadly, it’s still fresh in most parts in our country. Seeing the statistics of Male female ratio in recent years. This campaign seems to be very initiative & essential at this point of time. In distant vision aspect, Its time to change ‘SAVE GIRL CHILD’ to ‘TEACH BOY CHILD’. To get a complete solution, passing STRONG acts on 1. Prohibition of determination of sexes & 2. Eradication of Dowry system are must i feel.
