TNV: Tell us something about yourself.
AS: My name is Adnan Sheikh. I’m a 23 year old BBA graduate from Goa. In life I have a high passion for the automobile industry and the Fashion industry. Two of my utmost interests. At the moment I’m helping out with the family business while I try making it in the modelling industry.
TNV: What inclined you towards modelling? Are you looking forward to it as a full-time profession?
AS: As far as I can remember I have always had a special connection with Fashion which has grown stronger over time. I enjoy wearing different types of clothes. The thing is living in India we men haven’t really had access to exploit styles that are out of the ordinary. I feel like a person’s outfit can say a lot about that person. The reason I’m so interested in modelling is because I enjoy displaying a designers vision and I enjoy gaining the attention too. Yes I would want this to be a full time profession.
TNV: What was your reaction when you came to know that you were selected for Stellar Mr & Ms Goa 2020?
AS: I was really happy and excited. I had done a bit research about Stellar and I’ve heard a lot of positives. I was also very excited after seeing last year’s pictures which showed how professional and bold this show is. Can’t wait for the finale.
TNV: Have you participated in pageants before this?
AS: Yes, I have participated in two shows before this and have bagged the 1st runner up in both the shows(Mr and Miss India perfect model and Fashion model Season 2). This time at any cost I’m gonna take home the winners title. Gonna work very hard for it.
TNV: How important winning this pageant is for you?
AS: Like I just said, in the past two pageants I’ve come second(First runner up) and this time I have to achieve the winner title since I’ve never had it before so it really means a lot for me. I have to prove to myself and to everyone else that I am worth the title and I will.
TNV: Are you feeling any pressure?
AS: You can’t go anywhere in this world without feeling the wrath of pressure. Yes it is present but in a certain way I like to feel it as it helps & motivates me to do better.
TNV: Your biggest support in life?
AS: My biggest support in life is my family. Most strongly though my mother. She has supported me in every choice I make even if it may not always be right. She’s always by my side, when I fall to help me get back up and move forward. She has always told me to learn from my mistakes and to be positive in life. I love you Mom.
TNV: Any quote or saying that has profound impact on you?
AS: Rihanna is my role model and she has this one quote tattooed across her left shoulder which reads, “Never a failure, Always a lesson”. I have stuck by this for as long as I can remember because it states that you don’t have to feel defeated or lost or feel like you failed. Instead you should always look at it your failure as a lesson, learn from it and move forward.
TNV: Any message for your friends and well-wishers?
AS: I would like to say that if you have a passion and a dream, you have to follow it and work hard to achieve it. Let me tell you this, if you dont love what you do, you will never be successful at it. It is very important to do what you like because then it never really feels like doing work.
