PUNE POLICE ARRESTED A MAN FOR CREATING DEFAMING PANAJI BASED GIRL THROUGH FACEBOOK PROFILE

Gunwanti Paraste (Pune): Pune police arrested 27-year-old local man for defaming friend of his wife in Goa by creating facebook account claiming her to be available for sexual favours.

Hadapsar police arrested Surendra Kumar Jain after lady friend of his wife lodged complaint with Cyber Crime cell against him for creating fake Facebook account of her.

The profile claimed Panaji-based woman as a sex workers and her picture along with another Pune based friend was uploaded on the account.

The fake account came to light when Panaji based woman started getting phone calls from different numbers seeking sexual favours. Girl’s Pune friend then contacted Cyber Crime cell which detected the creator of the profile, Surendra.

During the interrogation, surendra has confessed of committing the crime and has claimed that he did it to teach lesson to Goa based girl who had helped his wife to get a job.

Surendra was not having cordial relation with his wife and was angry on the girl and her Pune friend for helping his wife.

The investigating team included police inspector Radhika Phadke, police sub-inspector Nitin Khamgal and policemen Yogesh Ovhal, Nitin Chandane, Aslam Attar, Rosif Mulla and Santosh Jadhav. Hadapsar police are investigating the case further.
