Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar made a surprise visit to the police headquarters

Police chief Dr Muktesh Chander and his subordinates were astonished when Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar made a surprise visit to the police headquarters in Panaji today.

Clad in blue half sleeve shirt and black trousers, Parrikar first took a round of the Panaji police station located in the same campus and subsequently inspected the functioning of the State control room, above the PS. He then moved to the headquarters that houses offices of Director General of Police, Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of all major units besides other wings.

Expect for a few top police officials who were dressed in khaki, others were spotted in civil dress.

Parrikar, who is known for making surprise visits at government offices during any given time, proposed to revamp the police headquarters which is an old building to suit the present needs.
