KUNBI SAREE IN GOA WILL GET IRANI TOUCH

Panaji (Goa): Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani today said that centre will provide all assistance to those working to revive Goa’s traditional `kunbi’ saree.

“Kunbi saree from Goa was displayed during the curtain raiser of Textile event that happened in Delhi,” Irani said today addressing a press conference.

She said during her meeting with the State art and culture minister Govind Gaude today she has appealed that whoever wants to revive this saree, they would be provided assistance by the centre.

The minister said several weavers in the country have been benefitted due to the Prime Minister’s Mudra yojana which has taken their income up by 60-80 per cent.
