BAMBOLIM (GOA): The Goa Badminton Association in collaboration with Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Sports Authority of Goa conducted a “Shuttle Time Introduction Workshop” on June 17 and 18. The Badminton training workshop, hosted by Evening Badminton Group, was held at Media Centre, Athletics stadium, Bambolim with training sessions held at Indoor stadium, Campal.
A total of 26 physical education teachers and preliminary coaches were introduced to the Shuttle Time resources and were taught how to use these new concepts effectively to train their school pupils. There were several fun and interesting concepts introduced like balloon tap relay, golf and handball game with shuttles, mirror chase, dice game, balance and throw, etc.
Participants received certificates on completion along with a teacher’s manual, ready lesson plans, and instructional videos supporting the exercises.
The sessions were conducted by Roy Ataide, Sandeep Heble and Wilfred Jacques.
Shuttle Time is a Badminton World Federation (BWF) Programme which is being implemented in 101 countries with fun and lively sessions to make Badminton an attractive sport for children. An advanced workshop with BWF certified trainers will be held later during the year.
