PILLION DIES AFTER FALLING IN MANDOVI RIVER DUE TO ACCIDENT BETWEEN CAR AND BIKE

Panaji (Goa): In a major tragedy at Ribandar causeway, a pillion rider fell into Mandovi River following a head-on collision between a wagonR car and Maestro bike in the afternoon hours. The 21-year-old Rohan Parab’s body was fished out nearly an hour after an intensive search by the authorities concerned. According to the Old Goa police, car driver Sunil Dut Narayan Fadte (55), a resident of Marcel was proceeding from Ribandar to Panaji when he banged into the bike going in the opposite direction. The rider Suraj Naik (30) escaped with injuries but Parab was unfortunate. Since it was high tide, police said, it was even more difficult to trace Parab. The body was shifted to Goa medical college where the doctors declared him dead. The police are preparing a case to book the accused driver for causing death due to negligent driving under section 304-A of the Indian Penal Code.
