The Mr. Goa Bodybuilding Championship 2017, will be held on April 22 near Mapusa taxi stand.

The championship is being organised by Anup Khobrekar and Adv. Manguesh Harmalkar under the aegis of Goa Bodybuilding & Fitness Association. Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners.

The competition will be held in weight categories of 50 – 55kg, 55 – 60kg, 60 – 65kg, 65 – 70kg, 70 – 75 kg and 75kg+.

Speaking to the TNV team, the host of this championship, Anup who is also a prize winner in the previous bodybuilding championships, said that there will also be other sections in the championship, which are the Men Physique competition and Team championship.

In the Men Physique competition the contestants will be judged only on the upper body physique, this section is mostly like a modeling contest, informed Anup Khobrekar.

Meanwhile in the Team Championship, prizes will be awarded to a gym with most number of winners in different weight categories.

Consolation prizes will be awarded to best improved body builder and best poser.

The judges for the championship are Sanjay Patil (president GBBFA), Viraj Arabekar (gen. secretary GBBFA), Shweta Bhatia (women’s wing GBBFA), Ravi Dessai (National judge), Santosh Mapsekar (National judge), Satya Naik (National Judge), Mahendra Dessai (State judge), Vishnu Uskaiker (State judge), Machindra Jalmi (State judge).
