32-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING PRESCRIPTIONS

Pune: Heavy addiction to a presciption drug forced a 32-year-old man to steal prescription receipts of a doctor from Deenanath Mageshkar hospital so that he can procure the drug from medicine store.The arrested accused is been identified as Siji George John who is currently staying in  Nagpur Chawl of Yerwada.

According to information given by officials of Alankar police where a case of break-in and forgery is lodged against Sijo, he has completed his studies in nursing and had come in pune in Decmeber 2016. Sijo worked as a male nurse at Sahyadri hospital for few months but was expelled from the job.Police said that from past four months Sijo is jobless.

On Wednesday afternoon Sijo had reached at Deenanath mangeshkar hospital premises and managed to steal a bunch of prescription receipts of a doctor and then used a the same to procure the drug from a chemist located at fourth floor of the hospital.”The chemist alerted the doctors of the hospital when Sijo had reached to Sijo is captured in CCTV footage at the hospital and the assitant manager of the hospital Nitin Mahbal has lodged a complaint in this regard at Alankar police station” said police sub inspector Pankaj Shingare who is investigating the case.

The accused told police that he ocassionally takes the drug which is taken through an injection.”Sijo told us that he feels dizzy after taking the drug and is addicted to it” added Shingare. Police said that Sijo stays alone in Yerwada and hails from Kerala.
