Panaji (GOA): Deputy Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly Michael Lobo on Monday said that the ongoing incidents of desecration of religious structures are “planned” act involving ‘outer elements’ who are working overnight to disturb the communal harmony of the State.
“There are some outer elements…may be some individuals or groups or organizations that have entered our peace loving state and are trying to disturb the communal harmony,” BJP MLA Lobo told reporters.
He said that Goa is known as a State where people of all religion live in peace and harmony. “There are strong attempts to divide us. Someone…somewhere is trying to create something wrong in the State and people have already started getting disturbed,” Lobo said.
“These are planned acts where someone is doing everything overnight to disturb our peace,” he added.
Deputy Speaker slammed police over its failure to crack the case even after one week stating that police are completely clueless.
“I would be meeting Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar once he come backs from his US trip. I am going to demand that case be handed over to CBI if police are not able to track the case,” he said.
He demanded that police should provide 24×7 surveillance at all the religious places like churches, temples and mosques.
