Panaji (Goa): Ruling Goa Forward Party (GFP) has volunteered to rebuilt all the Holy Crosses and religious places which are desecrated by miscreants in the State during recent past.

Sardesai said GFP team would inspect all the sites where such incidents have happened and begin work on rebuilding them with the proper permission from the authorities.
At least 11 Holy Crosses and a temple were desecrated in the month of July forcing the police to form special investigation team in each police stations and mounting the patrolling along such places.
“Everyone has to join the movement which aims to oppose the attempts to create communal tensions by executing such kind of acts. The like-minded people should come together,” Sardesai, who is also State Agriculture Minister, said.
The minister said that the party will start the work of rebuilding the affected religious places as soon as possible.
Referring to the series of desecrations, Sardesai said Goa is facing “new challenges” in the form of such acts. “We had reviewed the situation in South District two days back but last night again, the desecrations were reported. Perhaps some anti social elements are trying to prove a point,” Sardesai said.
Two Holy Crosses were desecrated during wee hours today at Loutolim village taking the total cases to 11 during the ongoing month of July.
