MAH: THEFT SPREE IN PUNE

PUNE: Eight major burglaries were reported in the city in last 48 hours wherein cash and valuables of worth Rs 40 lakh were stolen.

The burglers broke into a bungalow near Someshwar Mandir in Pashan and decamped with 700 grams of gold, 2 kgs silver ornaments and Rs 1.5 lakh cash. The bungalow owner has lodged an FIR with Chatushrungi police station stating that the bungalow was locked for the last three days as they were out of station.

In Koregaon Park, the burglars struck at a locked flat and decamped with a safe containing gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs 14 lakh. Vasudev Megani (43) has lodged an FIR against unidentified persons in this regard. The incident took place between 1 pm and 4 pm on Thursday in Jashan Mahal co-operative housing society.

Under Sinhgad road police station jurisdiction, two persons from Rutambhara Annex society have lodged complaints that gold ornaments and cash, of total worth Rs 2.9 lakh, were stolen on Wednesday.

In Wakad, Chitrank Agarwal has lodged a complaint that the thief entered his flat using a duplicate key and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh.
