Porvorim (Goa): The Memorandum of Understanding between Goa government, Inland Waterways Authority and Mormugao Port Trust would be signed over nationalization of rivers within 1-2 months.
This was told to State Legislative Assembly by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. He was responding to question by Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco.
“We are in the process of finalizing the memorandum of understanding between Inland Waterways Authority (IWA), Goa government and Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) which is nodal agency,” Parrikar said.
“In next one or two months, the MoU would be signed. Once we get into agreement we will be eligible for funding from the central government,” the Chief Minister said.
