MAH: TWO ARRESTED FOR EXTORTION

PUNE: Officials of the Khadak police station arrested two persons, involved in the murder case of gangster Sharad Mohol, for allegedly trying to extort Rs 10 lakh from one Subhash Marne.
The arrested accused has been identified as Anil Khilare(46) and Sagar Khilare(42) of Shukrawar peth. As per the complaint filed by Subhash Marne, his brother Anil Marne was murdered in 2005. Anil Khilare and Sagar Khilare were good friends of Anil Marne. In 2005 Anil Khilare and Sagar said that Anil Marne was murdered by members of Sharad Mohol gang and so the duo planned the murder of Sharad Mohol in 2007.
The duo was later arrested by police and were out on bail in 2014. “Anil Khilare and Sagar Khilare told me that I need to give them Rs 10 lakh for their court proceedings as they took revenge for the murder of my brother. They also threatened that I should pay them Rs 10000 per month for their daily expenditures,” added Subhash who runs a watch shop in Shukrawar peth. Following the complaint, police sub inspector Sanjay Gaikwad arrested the accused duo. The accused were produced in the court and were sent to police custody till July 21.
Gaikwad submitted to the court that Anil Khilare is a history-sheeter and is involved in two murders in Vihsrambaug and Kothrud, extortion and rioting. PSI Gaikwad is investigating the case.
