Porvorim (Goa): Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told the House today that the increasing number of nurses going abroad on unpaid leaves has left the state health facilities with the shortage of staff.
“There are several nurses who go on unpaid leave abroad under pretext of education and then they get into the employment there,” Rane told the assembly. He said the state government would be strict on allowing such unpaid leaves considering that the staff at various government facilities is short.
Rane also said that the proper procedures would be followed while filling vacancies for the nurses while experience can be counted about those nurses who are already in service on contract basis.
