GOA: GSL BUILT WARSHIP DELIVERED TO SRI LANKA

VASCO (GOA): A high level Sri Lankan Naval delegation headed by Rear Admiral SS Ranasinghe, Chief of Staff, Sri Lanka Navy is on visit to Goa from July 21-26.
The delegation is here to accept the delivery of Sri Lankan Naval Ship Sayurala (P-623), the 1st advanced offshore patrol vessel built by Goa Shipyard Limited for Sri Lankan Navy.
The acceptance ceremony was conducted on July 22 in the presence of Chitranganee Wagiswara, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in India.
The handing over ceremony, taking the India – Sri Lanka relations a step higher, was also attended by senior Flag Officers from Indian Navy. The warship will shift from GSL to Mormugao Port Trust on July 24 and will set sail for Colombo on July 25.
The delegation will also be meeting Rear Admiral Puneet K Bahl, VSM, Flag Officer commanding Goa Naval Area on July 24 for interaction.
