Panaji (Goa) Minutes after Babush Monserratte joined Goa Forward Party, Congress’ Goa desk incharge Chellakumar has spilled the beans. He claimed that Vijai Sardesai and Babush Monserratte wanted to topple the government when Manohar Parrikar was abroad.

The Congress leader said that the move could not materialize as Vijai wanted to be the chief minister which was refused by the Congress party. He has also hinted that the distribution of Rajya Sabha ticket was the reason for Vijai to go against Congress. This is what Chellakumar said:

“It is natural that Babush and Vijai will go together. All the land grabbers are together. They are together to sell the State. Congress has not allowed them to sell the state that is why they are upset.”

“They forced us to give Rajya Sabha ticket to a land grabber who was supported by Vijai. We refused. We told them that anybody who is selling Goa would not be entertained by Congress party.”

“Babush had told us that they want to topple the Parrikar government when he goes abroad. They wanted to make Vijai as the chief minister. But we were of the opinion that the government would be led by a person with integrity.”

“Rahul Gandhi during Fatorda meeting had categorically said that Congress will not tolerate corruption even for two minutes. That is why all these people have become together.”

“We will not allow any more blackmail politics. Let Sardesai topple the government. We are not with him.”

“We have lot of option for Panaji by-election. Babush was not finalized. There are so many aspirants.”

“After Rahul Gandhi’s meeting Babush had met me in a hotel in Margao and asked not to give ticket to Vijai”

“Congress will not let Goa to be sold.”
