GOA: ATTEMPTS ON TO SALVAGE LUCKY7 FROM MIRAMAR BEACH

Miramar (Goa): The salvage exercise of controversial grounded off-white casino vessel reached second day today. The amphibious dredger has been clearing off the sand to make way for M V Lucky 7 to enter deep waters.

The salvage company from Mumbai Arihant Ship Breakers transported the equipment to Goa on Sunday night.

“The dredging work is going on fast track. We expect it to complete in two days so that the vessel enters into deep waters,” said an official who is monitoring the he entire operation. The towing of the hedge vessel will be carried out thereafter wherein additional equipments will be brought.

Golden Globe Hotels Pvt Ltd that owns the vessel had entered into agreement with the salvage company after it ran aground off Miramar over a week ago. The vessel which was to be named as Big Daddy on obtaining operational license had left Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) on July 13 but it was forced to stop off Cabo Raj Niwas. It thereafter drifted towards Miramar beach and ran aground on Miramar shoreline.
