PANAJI (GOA): MP Shantaram Naik today said, “Thivim Station is a gateway of Goa to those coming to Goa by railways and hence Konkan Railway should make all efforts to develop the station and its surroundings by making it a smart station.”
Naik said that the road leading to Thivim railway station needs to be beautified so that tourists who get down at Thivim station get impressed.
Naik said that Goa should be given the status of an Independent railway division as Goa is an independent state. Presently, Goa is part of Hubli Division, as a result of which, the division did not take any interest to obtain MPLAD funds which he offered to develop Vasco Railway Station.
