PUNE: Pune police nabbed three people for allegedly stealing cash of people by asking address and giving them a hug. The suspects, all of them acting drunk and asking home and office address, hugged people and stole money from their pocket.
The police have identified the three accused as Aakash Balu Dhumal (20), Rohan Balram Jadhav (22), both residents of Hadpasar and Akshay Bharat Kantale alias Jagtap (21) residence of Manjari Village.
Deputy Commissioner of police (zone 2) Pravin Mundhe said that two policemen BM Musale and SP Polekar arrested two suspects red-handed, when the suspects were hugging a man on Kondhwa-Bibvewadi road on Sunday. The man Munna Rakkisun Jaiswal of Bibvewadi was walking on the street on Sunday afternoon when two suspects, Aakash Dhumal and Rohan Jadhav, hooked him. The suspects, who came on a motorcycle, asked him an address. When Jaiswal explain the address both suspects told him thank you and hugged him. The policemen saw the suspects stealing cash from Jaiswal’s pocket and took them to the police station. During police interrogation, the suspects revealed the name of Jagtap and he was arrested. Police recovered two motorcycles and cash Rs 2.22 lakh. Two cell phones bought with the stolen cash were also seized.
