GOA: WORKSHOP ON VECTOR BORNE DISEASES CONDUCTED AT BICHOLIM

BICHOLIM (GOA): The Indian Medical Association (IMA) in collaboration with Public Health Centre (PHC) Bicholim and Lions Club organized an “advocacy workshop on vector borne diseases” like Malaria, Dengue, Leptospirosis etc for elected representatives, students, builders, contractors and general public at Zantye Hall Bicholim on July 26, Wednesday at 10:30 am.
Chairperson of Bicholim Municipality, Satish Gaonkar, inaugurated the session. Dr medha salkar welcomed and gave a brief overview of the programme ann about Public Health Act.
Uday Tamhankar of PHC Bicholim compered the function while Dr Padwal in a very entertaining style, captivated the audience on the topic of vector borne diseases.
The programme was followed by a quiz competition conducted by Lions Club of Bicholim members, Siddhant Shetye , Mekhala Salkar, Nehal Shetye and Sayee. Our Lady of Grace High School won the 1st prize while 2nd prize was won by Kasarpal Govt High School and the 3rd prize went to Shri Shantadurga High School Bicholim.
Around 100 people including students participated in the workshop.
