Panaji (GOA) With Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) reducing the Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment (FPPCA), the consumers can now have a sigh of relief from the exorbitant electricity bills for the quarter- July, August and September.
While making a special mention before the House, Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar said that consumers will now receive normal electricity bills which will be less compared to what they have already paid.
He said that State has received Rs 58.10 crore credits under FPPCA which will be now credited to the consumer’s electricity bills for the month of July, August and September. “A minus 24 paisa per unit would be added to the bills for the quarter,” Minister said.
Madkaikar informed that for the last quarter, the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) has increased the FPPCA charges.
“The State was asked to pay the amount of Rs 92.58 crores and the same was adjusted in the bills of the consumers. That was the reason that the consumers got exorbitant bills in April, May and June,” he said.
