Panaji (Goa) Congress has finally announced their candidates. Girish Chodankar will contest from Panaji and Roy Naik from Valpoi during upcoming by-election.
The announcement was made by Congress chief Shantaram Naik in Panaji. He said that the party will raise the issue of off shore casinos as a major poll plank during the campaigning.

“Parrikar has been fooling the people in the name of Casino policy. He does not intend to move the casinos out of Mandovi river. We will expose him during the election campaign,” he said.

“The Chief Minister should first get the off shore casino vessels out from River Mandovi which is in Panaji and then amend the existing law so that they don’t come back in the river,” he said.

Naik said that the proposed policy will not work as “policy is not a law.”
