Goa government will start implementing the time bound delivery service act by next month, Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte has said.
The otherwise delay in issuing residential certificates, caste certificates, property certificates, etc is soon to be a thing of the past with its implementation while the department will also crack down on corrupt staffers at all taluka and District collectors’ offices.
“Its time to get serious at work. We are a department that directly deals with the public and timely delivery of services to the common man is our priority. I will not tolerate any nonsense in the offices under my department. The enforcement of the Act by mid-next month will penalise the errant staff/officials/officers,” the minister told this reporter.
Khaunte has already created a wave through surprise inspection, calling for attendance records of the employees and listening to grievances of the people. He has suspended at least dozen staffers for 48 hours and ordered deducting their payment, for reporting late to office.
His plans to streamline the working at each office include setting up close circuit television cameras, complaints box among others. Feedback from the general public will be crucial to further improvise the services, he said.
The minister has promised to clear the backlog of over 8,000 mutation cases in 90 days whereas fresh applications with or without objection would take not more than 30 days.
