Panaji (Goa) This would really sound tempting for Panaji voters even if Shravan is on. Goa Suraksha Manch has assured that they will have more fish stalls providing subsidized fish if their candidate Anand Shirodkar is elected in Panaji by-poll.
The manifesto of the party candidate which was released today has several assurances but one that catches the eye is about the fish.
“To increase public distribution of fish, I will ensure (that there is) increase in the number of fair price kiosks/shops for selling fish,” the party has said.
The more promises includes:
“I will coordinate with concerned public representatives and NGOs to remove Casinos from Mandovi River and from Panaji and its neighbourhood. I will try to ensure deletion of amendments made by Government in Goa Gambling Act.”
Shirodkar has also assured adequate measures to avoid flooding of Panaji city.
The party has also said that their candidate will “work with civil society to protect the constitutional rights of all the communities.”
GSM has said that all the educational activities financed by the government should be as laid down in the National Educational Framework from time to time.
The party has also opposed the new concept of Transfer of Developmental Rights introduced by Manohar Parrikar led government.
“I will prevent conversion of Panaji into a concrete jungle by preventing the introduction of TDR in Goa. I will take all possible steps to prevent introduction of TRD law in Goa since this law will serve unscrupulous politicians and non-goan buyers of costly homes rather than middle-class Goans,” the manifesto reads.
