Calangute (Goa) Calangute police have arrested one Russian national Mitina Yulia Svetlav for overstaying in India without any passport/travel document or any valid visa.
“After receiving information about the one Russian lady staying illegally in Calangute, police officials were directed to verify the information first. It was revealed that the lady was staying along with a person Austin D’souza at his residence without any documentation. Accordingly after confirming the facts, she was brought to the police station and placed under arrest with various provisions of Passport Entry into India Act, Passport rules and Foreigners Act,” PI Jivba Dalvi said.
Information about the arrest has been given to the concerned Embassy. Accused has been remanded to judicial custody and further investigation is in progress.
